Service Description
We're delighted to welcome back one of our favourite authors, Liz Flanagan, to celebrate her wonderful new children's book, When I Was a Wolf. Following the success of her acclaimed adult novel When We Were Divided, Liz returns with a heartfelt story for younger readers, published by the brilliant Barrington Stoke. Jasmine loves wolves, her mum and her best friend, Ella. But when her mum becomes ill and friendships begin to change, everything feels different. At a new art club, Jasmine discovers that creativity can help her express her worries and sadness as she creates a magnificent wolf lantern for the town parade. But when a moment of anger threatens everything she's worked towards, can Jasmine find a way to repair what's been broken? Beautifully written with warmth and compassion, When I Was a Wolf explores friendship, family, emotions and the healing power of creativity. Like all Barrington Stoke titles, it is dyslexia-friendly, making it an accessible and enjoyable read for a wide range of readers. It's particularly suitable for children aged 7+, with a reading age of 7. During this special event, Liz will read from the book, chat about the story and its inspiration, and lead a fun craft activity inspired by Jasmine's creative journey. 🐺 Storytime with Liz Flanagan 🎨 Creative craft activity 📚 A gentle, uplifting celebration of friendship, creativity and finding your inner strength While the book is aimed at readers aged 7+, everyone is welcome at our storytime, and we'd love families of all ages to come along and enjoy this special event together.
