Free Author Storytime
George Kirk
Service Description
Join us for a very special storytime with debut author George Kirk as she shares her wonderful picture book, Bessie's Bees. Bessie's head is full of bees—buzzing, bouncing and brimming with energy. That's just fine... until she starts school and wonders why no one else's bees seem to be buzzing like hers. With the help of her Granny, Bessie learns that her bees are part of what makes her wonderfully unique. Created in partnership with Mayo Clinic paediatric experts, Bessie's Bees is a heartwarming celebration of neurodiversity that uses a fun, relatable metaphor to help children understand ADHD. The book also includes practical guidance and myth-busting facts for parents and carers. George's events are full of warmth, humour and fun—and she'll even be bringing along her ukulele for a musical storytime (look out, Grant!). This relaxed, inclusive event is perfect for our regular storytime audience, as well as families wanting to explore a positive story about ADHD, embracing differences and celebrating every child's unique strengths. 🐝 A joyful interactive storytime 🎶 Music with George's ukulele 📚 A celebration of neurodiversity and being yourself Suitable for young children and their families. Come along for a welcoming morning of stories, songs and buzzing imaginations! 💛📖
